R.I.P. Jessica

This Monday, one of my dearest friends, Jessica Oakes-Martinez, passed away. She had a long fight with leukemia. She is survived by her husband, Salvador Martinez, and her children; Alexander Oakes, 11 - Isis Oakes, 5 - and Minerva Oakes-Martinez, 2. May God have mercy on her. She was always the perfect inspiration to me, especially when I felt weak or in doubt....my God, what will I do with out her?

H5N1 Update

Well, as you can plainly see, it has been a few weeks since my last update. In the interim, many new case nations for the deadly H5N1 virus have reported. Czech Republic, Burkina Faso, Sudan and The United Kingdom have all reported cases in birds, while human cases have been confirmed in Denmark, Jordan, and the West Bank. Clearly this virus shows no sign of slowing, and is still feared to have the potential to mutate and become a human pandemic. We shal see...
